This presentation will focus on the role of state-level health policy in improving population health in Ohio. The potential impact of policy on health outcomes will be reviewed, using a case study of a current bill (HB508) in the legislative process. Discussion will include integrating data and resources into policy advocacy, engaging stakeholders, and nurses’ role as leaders in improving access to quality care throughout the state.
About the Speaker:
RACHEL BAKER, PHD, RN, CRN-BC, FAAN
Rachel is currently a nurse researcher at TriHealth in Cincinnatti, Ohio, adjunct professor at the University of Cincinnati, and a representative in the Ohio House of Representatives. She has a BSN from the University of Cincinnati, a MSW from the University of Michigan, and PhD from the University of Cincinnati.
