 About the Speakers

Paola Peynetti Velázquez, MPH joined the Performance Improvement team in the Quality & Safety department at Cambridge Health Alliance in 2017. In her role as Senior PI Consultant, she collaborates closely with CHA’s executive leadership team to design, facilitate, and execute strategic, system-wide, lean projects to streamline hospital operations with the goal of improving access to care for patients across inpatient, emergency, and ambulatory settings. At CHA, Paola has focused on supporting the Psychiatry department in redesigning dozens of processes to improve provider and staff engagement, reduce chances of error, eliminate waste, and meet CHA’s population health objectives. Originally from Mexico City, Paola holds an MPH from Boston University School of Public Health and has served on the board of the New England Association for Healthcare Quality since 2020.

Alana Plumb, MPH candidate, joined the Performance Improvement team in the Quality & Safety department at Cambridge Health Alliance as an intern in June 2022, transitioning to a full-time role in January 2023. Alana primarily works with the Emergency Departments and Urgent Care center at CHA, most recently helping leadership with program management, data analysis, preparing for Joint Commission, and establishment of Rapid Assessment triage workflows, all with staff and patient safety at the core of our mission for improvement. Alana is originally from Vermont, has a BA from the University of Vermont, is obtaining her MPH from Boston University School of Public Health in May 2023, and is a new member to the New England Association for Healthcare Quality since December 2022.
