Topics and Speakers:

There are currently five generations in the workplace, Traditionalist, Baby Boomers, Gen X, Millennials, and now welcoming Gen Z. Each generation brings their own unique style and work needs to an organization. So how can groups manage their expectations of one another and remain a productive team?

Feliz Rodriguez, CDE, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Director for Ingham County will discuss observations about each generation. She will use these generalizations to demonstrate how these views can be used for participants to better assess themselves, their needs and how to work effectively with those who differ from their style. Traditionalist and Baby
Boomers are leaving the workforce and the workplace landscape is changing as groups navigate a digitally enhanced world.

Is your organization prepared for the intellectual knowledge and experience gap? Feliz will present some best practices that attendees can incorporate to solidify their succession plans and ease transition. This presentation is suitable for anyone who works in a cross-generational team.

PRESENTER BIO:

Feliz Rodriguez (she/her) is the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Director for Ingham County and currently serves on the Regional Equity Advisory Committee for Health (REACH), Ingham County Racial Equity Taskforce, Advocates and Leaders for Police and Community Trust (ALPACT), Racial Equity Data Initiative (REDI), Mid MI BREATH Act, and the Mid-Michigan
Latino Leadership Network. Feliz also meets with various groups and organizations throughout the County in hopes of making connections and providing resources that benefit underserved populations.

Feliz is a Certified Diversity Executive, and also holds certifications as a Senior Human Resources Preprofessional and SHRM Senior Certified Professional.  Her inspiration to do social equity work is driven from her desire to ensure that all persons are afforded equitable rights by fostering the transformation of community life by eliminating inequities, injustices, and
disparate treatment of individuals. She under-stands there is a delicate balance in facilitating and participating in difficult conversations and even listening to thoughts and perspectives that may not be in line with social justice advocacy. She recognizes the importance of promoting a platform where all voices can be heard and actively works on building bridges for all members of society.
